There hasn’t been much spinning going on lately – but still the fibre sits in its clear plastic bins, staring at me every time I come into my little home office. So M. (the other M., I’m suddenly seeing a shortfall in my clever anonymous naming system) and I did some felting.

Piles of fluffy wool, pre-felting

It’s no wonder felt is so warm – we had 6 to 8″ piles of wool, carefully drafted and arranged in layers, that compressed into less than 1/4″ thick mats after felting. Once dry, mine unfortunately ended up looking like it was coated in pink public hair. How do you felters get the silk fibres in there without it looking gross?
