It happened last weekend: lovely local llama spun up with some wool. And then I dyed it this green-turquoise colour. My dye-mixing technique definitely needs some fine-tuning – despite my careful calculations, this wasn’t actually the colour I was hoping for. Still, it may be wearable in small doses.

In my daydreams, I will knit this into plum gloves for next winter, since the arrival of real plum blossoms in Vancouver means it’s finally getting warmer.

Baby vest: done!

What to say? – it was easy and fast to make, and I only used up half of the yarn I spun for it. Just  in time for the baby shower this weekend. Still not sure how I feel about those stripes.

Also, fresh from DeSerres and still shrink-wrapped is the other baby gift. The handmade letterpress print is from Sycamore Street Press and I hope mom-to-be likes it as much as I do. It’s never too soon for junior to learn to count, right? Yeah, I’m going to be the aunt that teaches you stuff. And knits you stuff. And feeds you stuff.
